Hello all and Happy Autumn!!

Well, I'm back again! It seems like every six-eight weeks I manage to get on here and blog. I love to write, so I don't know why I can't leave a few lines for you all to read everyday.
Since it is now Autumn, I needed to change my theme. I love this theme! It is just so warm and fuzzy and cozy-looking! To go with that lovely pic, here is a recipe from my friend and Mary Kay consultant, Connie:
Wassail
4 cups orange juice
1 cup lemon juice
1 gallon apple cider (or 100% apple juice)
2 cups sugar
3 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 sticks of cinnamon
--Mix all ingredients together and let simmer. (I just throw it all in a crockpot and let heat for several hours.) The longer you let it simmer, the stronger it will be. Enjoy!
I plan on making this in a little while, only I am going to half the recipe. Mmmmm! The house is going to smell wonderful. While this yummy drink is simmering, I will be attempting to get some housework done. Have a great day everyone!!

Saddened by this. . .

I attend an ELCA church (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), and our national assembly was this past week. One of the votes taken just saddens me. You can read about it here:

It concerns allowing gays and lesbians that are in publically accountable, lifelong relationships to serve as clergy.
I am not sure what my congregation will decide. I have been trying for years to figure out exactly what our church believed. Obviously, it is not the Bible. I don't want to sound like some screwball hatemonger. I try to love everyone, but that doesn't mean I condone sin. I have sins in my life as well, but it doesn't make them right.
Here is another news release that bothers me some. Our bishop is constantly talking about "conversation, dialogue, keeping engaged", but I think people have been seriously alienated this week.

Well, they are a month late, but here they are. I discovered (due to the joys of dial-up) that I will have to load thumbnails. So, I hope you are able to see everyone. The first should be my newest nephew, the second my sis's fam, the third my H.S. class reunion, and finally, my friend at her wedding. On my nephew's pic (which was taken by my niece!), I added a little saying (my little Humphrey Bogart! <3)

This and That

Well, it has been over three months (!) since I last blogged. A lot has gone on in that time. I have a new nephew (Yay!), I got to go to Alaska to visit my sis and her fam (Woohoo!), I've had my class reunion (went well), and I attended a wedding of a friend yesterday (she looked beautiful). Summer continues to fly by. It just seems like Spring came yesterday and now the end of August is rapidly approaching. I enjoy Autumn, but I don't want Summer to go away quite yet! :) How are all of my online friends? Busy? Let me know what's up!
What does today hold? Well, since there is no church (Pastor is in New Orleans for the Youth Conference), I am going over to my parents' home to help clean out the garage. They have been unable to use the garage for over 15 years because my grandparents and our stuff is stacked in there! So, it is time to dump some of my sentimentality and attack the clutter!! Please pray we can get a lot done today before I have to lie down and get my nap before work this evening. I want it to look like we made some headway!!

Happy Belated Easter!

I really need to get back to my blogging! Happy belated Easter, everyone! He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! Praise God for the gift He has given us!
So, what has been going on with my readers? Do I even have many readers? Let me know how your Easter went and what is new with you.
Not much going on here. I planted my garden Saturday. Oh my goodness! I am soooo out of shape! Sunday morning was a rude awakening for me. I could feel pain in muscles that I didn't know I had! :) Oh, well. It was definitely worth it. Now, I hope and pray that everything lives and I get some reward for my work.
Work is work, but the way things sound I better be very grateful that we are still working. Looks like OT may be a thing of the past, so I better become a better money manager. Speaking of managing money, does anyone have any good suggestions for doing so? Like books, articles, personal experience, etc? I would appreciate any and all advice. It is a good thing that hubby is very good at it! However, I want to be able to handle my finances like him. I definitely need to control the impulse spending! I get so hung up on buying "stuff"! How much "stuff" does one really NEED anyway?!
Well, best go for now. I need to make our dinner. We third shifters eat at weird hours! Ha!
